A catch-all e-mailbox is one that collects all the emails sent to non-existent addresses. For example, if your address is info@domain.com, but someone misspells it and sends an email message to inof@domain.com, it will still be received in the catch-all mailbox that you have set up. Only one mailbox per domain name can have this feature enabled and in this way you’ll never miss messages because the other side has an outdated address or has made a mistake. The disadvantage of configuring a catch-all mailbox is that you may begin receiving plenty of unsolicited emails, but this issue can be solved by using anti-spam filtering software. It’s also important to bear in mind that a mailbox with an enabled catch-all functionality cannot redirect inbound messages to a third-party email address.

Catch-all Emails in Shared Hosting

If you host a domain on our cloud web hosting platform and you have a shared hosting account, you’ll be able to activate the catch-all functionality for any email mailbox that you set up under the domain name. The Email Manager section of the Hepsia Control Panel includes quite a few features, but it is surprisingly intuitive, so setting up a catch-all mailbox takes just a single click of the mouse. All the email addresses that you’ve set up will be shown in this section in alphabetical order and you’ll only have to click the "Catch-all" button pertaining to the specific address. Our system will alert you if there’s already another catch-all mailbox activated for that domain or if the one that you want to be a catch-all mailbox has email forwarding activated, so you can either deactivate the latter feature or choose a different mailbox. Deactivating the catch-all feature is just as easy and takes yet another mouse click on the same button.
